Some politicians are so popular, they can get re-elected even when they’re dead.
In the recent election, Florida Democrat Earl K. Wood and Alabama Republican Charles Beasley both won another term in office. The trouble is, both men have been dead for weeks! Beasley’s opponent said it was a tough campaign.
“When you are running against a dead man, you are limited as to what you can say,” said Walter Sansing.
In Florida, Democrat Scott Randolph will assume the office of tax collector. In Alabama, the governor will appoint a new commissioner, with input from Republicans.
