Teachers in Public Office?

GT News & Comment

by Frank Calling | News Editor | Gaseoustania Tonight

News: Ohio teachers unions are encouraging their members to run for public office. They say having teachers in positions of public policy decision making will ensure their interests are protected, and their voices heard.

Comment: Electing teachers will not only ensure nothing gets done politically, but our schools will continue to see a downward spiral, churning out mediocre kids who don’t care about their futures.

The good news is, once teachers realize they can’t stage a sit-in whenever something at the State House doesn’t go their way, they’ll go running back to the security of their unions with lightning speed!

  1. I’m truly angry that parents put so much stress, fear, and anticipation into their kids’ heads in preparation for standardized tests that are consequential to their future needs. As a parent of a high school student, I’m dismayed at the education that my child receives, as her teachers frantically prepare her for more tests. My toddler will not attend public school. I will do whatever it takes to keep that from happening.
