News: While building a road, construction workers in Belize damaged Mayan ruins believed to be more than 2,000 years old.

Comment: Good for them. While this doesn’t appear to have been done intentionally, it is still a victory for progress.

We need to stop wasting time and resources preserving ‘ancient ruins,’ and finally address the needs of a growing world population. Just because something is old, it does not need to be protected for centuries, at the expense of advancement.

  1. Frank, you have no clue. If it were up to you, I’m sure the world would be a parking lot. Observing and analyzing the art and structures of those who came before us helps us understand ourselves, and take a greater appreciation for life in general.
