News: United Airlines recently announced they will start enforcing the $25 fee for oversized carry-on bags. Company reps say the move will speed the boarding process, but critics say it’s one more airline industry attack on consumers.
Comment: I actually agree with United on this one. Look, we’ve all seen the folks who try to bring their entire house on the plane. They knew the bag was oversized when they packed it.
I’m definitely a tight-wad, and hate any kind of ‘add-on’ fee, and that’s why I make sure I’ll never have to pay for a carry-on. If that means I wear the same shirt twice on a trip, so be it.
The jerks who try to fit eight bags’ worth of stuff into one carry-on, and then get mad when they get caught need to get over it. I’m tired of having to wait in the aisle for 20 minutes, watching you try to shove your life’s belongings into the overheard compartment.
