News: United Airlines recently announced the end of the company’s “frequent flier” program. Next year, airline passengers will be rewarded miles based on ticket price, not miles traveled. Delta already uses a similar system.
Comment: And so ends one of the last perks of airline travel. I’m sure other airlines will soon follow suit. Luckily, this is one area where passengers still have the upper hand. Penny-wise travelers should abandon any loyalty they may have held for airlines, and base their decisions solely on price. Two can play at this game.
