When Persistence Doesn’t Pay Off

“If at first you don’t succeed…”

Police in Toms River, New Jersey say a man there took the cliché a bit too literally, when he robbed the same shoe store… more than 15 years later.

Christopher Miller, now 40, was convicted of robbing a children’s shoe store in 1999, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the crime.

Police say it might be a long-held grudge that prompted Miller to take a bus directly from the jail to the same shoe store, and try to pick up where he left off.

Store workers think Miller might have wanted to go back to prison.
