Sue You, Sue Everybody

Talk about a soupy situation. Unhappy that he was denied a free bowl of soup, an attorney in Mansfield, Texas threatened to sue the local greasy spoon.

The man — upset he didn’t get any of the “free soup” that typically accompanies a meal at the restaurant — was seeking $2.25 in damages, plus $250 in court fees. Unfortunately for him, the menu clearly states the soup is only available “while supplies last.”

Capitalizing on all the free publicity (and perhaps as a veiled middle finger to the attorney), the restaurant is now offering 10% off to patrons who bring in cans of soup to donate to the local food bank.
