Love her or hate her, you can’t deny that Hillary Clinton is the media’s darling. As a journalist, I’ve been shocked by the open bias displayed in this election season. The media seems to be prepared to protect Hillary at all costs, and demonize Trump at every turn. Lucky for them, Trump feeds them a steady stream of gaffes, scandals, and downright outrageous behavior to detract from Hillary’s unbelievable corruption and lies. For now, at least.
When Hillary becomes President, Trump will go back to being an average citizen like you and me. I have no doubt that he’ll still seek to stay in the public eye by continuing to make crude comments and doing off-the-wall stunts, but he won’t be a political candidate anymore, and rather than making headline news, his antics will return to Hollywood Access fodder.
That means Hillary will have to either own up to her controversies, or find someone else to throw under the bus. Knowing her, she’s already picked out the people who will help her accomplish the latter.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the media will still try to protect Hillary after Inauguration Day. At that point, her scandals will be on the world stage. It won’t be so easy to pull the wool over the eyes of a global population as it was to dupe the American people.
