Amid outcry from residents of New York City’s Trump Tower, the property management company that owns the building has announced they will take the President-elect’s name off the tower, as well as two other high rises in the city. Though the initial call was in protest of the recent U.S. election, removing the Trump name serves a more important purpose.
Keep Yourself Alive
Presidential security is difficult under normal circumstances, but it is taken to a whole new level when it comes to a non-conventional figure like Donald Trump. Buildings featuring his name could easily become a target for terrorist activity, or at the very least violence and vandalism. It’s best to downplay Trump’s role.
In fact, were I a Trump Organization executive, I would push to temporarily rebrand all Trump properties until after the President-elect has served his time in office. It’s just the smart thing to do.
