At the request of the FDA, the makers of opioid painkiller Opana ER will pull their product from the shelves. The Feds say too many people are getting hooked and overdosing.
I’m sorry, I didn’t catch when we all became kindergarteners and the FDA became our protector. But hey! why not just let them tell us what’s good and bad, ‘cause we clearly have no clue.
In fact, let’s pull alcohol from the shelves. Potato chips? Gone. Pencils have sharp tips. Someone could poke an eye out! We need to shelter people from every possible thing that might harm them. God forbid they actually grow up and take responsibility for themselves.
And that’s saying nothing about the thousands of people who rely on such medications to ease their chronic pain. I’m sick and tired of pandering to a small percentage of the population that can’t seem to get their act together.
